Starting the blog + Games I'm playing rn
I went through a whole saga trying to set up a blog on my Neocities site. I used to have a journal section, but the posts there felt super random and messy, no structure at all. Also, not everyone knows this, but I already have a blog in Portuguese, and I didn't want to just make an English copy of it since the audiences are different and repeating content is kinda boring. Another thing that bothered me was that I could never get satisfied with the layouts I made for the blog. So, after all that frustration, I deleted the blog section on my Neocities and moved on, thinking I wouldn't need a blog there anytime soon. But here I am, writing the first post!! :v
I picked Bear Blog as my host instead of coding a page inside my site because it's simple and practical, which is exactly what I want. I'm not sure how often I'll post here, maybe not much at all, but I realized having a space to put all my writing together matters, cause writing is my fave way to express myself.
Anyway, let's get to the point: I started this post because I felt like talking a bit about the games I've been playing lately, as well as the ones I've finished. I won't drag it out, I'll keep it short and straight to the point, so bear with me. My Games page on Neocities has been updated a lot whenever I start or finish something new. I really like that page, and I recently fixed the code so it's responsive. Highly recommend checking it out.
On mobile, the only game I've been fully focused on is Haikyu!! Fly High. It's a gacha game with like a million things to do, but the main goal is to pull strong characters and build a solid team. The last pull I got was Kuroo UR, which I wasn't expecting at all, but I was so happy cause he boosted my team's rating a lot. The funny part is that even though it's a single-player game, I'm playing it with my boyfriend, who doesn't like Haikyu and lowkey hates volleyball lmao. Still, it's been fun.
On PC, I played some horror-ish games: Little Misfortune, Little Nightmares, Doki Doki, and most recently Miside. I haven't finished Miside yet, but I'm close. I liked the others a lot, except Little Nightmares, which was super annoying at first but grew on me. Doki Doki was actually my second playthrough just because I wanted to revisit the story and I really liked it. I'd recommend all of them, btw.
I also finished Cult of the Lamb, which I'm not sure counts as horror, but it's just as good as the others. The story is short, but the fun part is that it's basically an evil version of Stardew Valley. And speaking of Stardew Valley, I don't really vibe with it. I've tried playing so many times and never turned into a "Stardew Valley girl." But I did play other games in the same style, like Fields of Mistria, and surprisingly I liked it. Right now I started Coral Island because I found the ocean exploration part really cool and I liked that it's not pixelated. I've only played about five in-game days, so I don't have a solid opinion yet, but I hope this one hooks me the way Stardew Valley never did.
Anyway, if you want longer and more detailed reviews of the games, I recommend checking my Games page like I said above. I've been in a gamer vibe lately and I plan to play even more, which also means I'm open to recommendations. I even re-downloaded The Sims 3 because I wanted to try the Legacy Challenge, but in a more noob way without following every single rule. My main goal is just to get multiple generations of the same family, and if I manage that I'll be happy. I'm thinking of documenting the progress and posting it on my site, but we'll see how it goes. Stay tuned!
Thanks for reading this far.
